Running a Business While Staying Eco-Conscious

As an artist who makes content about environmental awareness, I strive for my packaging to mirror what I create. My process is not perfect yet, and improvements will be made as my business grows. Here are the current packaging positives!

MAILERS

All mailers are made from 100% recycled material (90% of which is post consumer recycled content). All mailers are sealed with water-activated paper tape. These can be recycled, repurposed, or composted. For more information, click the button.

WRAPPING PAPER

All wrapping paper is reused content found on a cart of items my university’s library was giving away. The maps are from the 1960’s (vintage and very cool!). Leftover scraps are recycled. These can be reused, recycled, or composted. When the repurposed map isn’t used, orders are wrapped in tissue paper. This can easily be reused for wrapping a gift.

BINDING AND BACKING

Wrapping paper and additional order items are bound by a piece of twine, which can easily be repurposed to wrap a gift or for decorations. Prints and commissioned pieces are backed with a piece of cardboard, which can easily be recycled. Sticker packs are backed with repurposed paper scraps or recycled paper. These can be reused, recycled, or composted.
